‘Another You’ from San Franciscan duo Cassette Tapes makes a hat trick for this electronic-pop pairing, known separately as Jackson and Parker. Much like previous List Picks ‘Fall Apart’ and ‘Forgiveness’, the band call on vibrant electronic production and fresh contemporary pop melodies to convey their emotive and highly relatable themes. ‘Another You’ is a bittersweet taste of lost love, inevitable ends and yet a feeling of longing that can’t subside. Singing sweetly over the clipped and chopped beats, our protagonist is fated to his own admission, “I think about leaving, but it’s hard to find, another you.” Once again, Cassette Tapes hit home with their hard truths, rich production, and almost dream-like mix of electronica, soul and pop. - Hannah Thacker
